Who doesn't like this adorable and very funny animation!
The Minions are small, yellow henchmen shaped like pill capsules who have one or two eyes and a few wispy strands of black hair on their heads. There are many of them, and I love them all but I've made just only one Minion with a tiny cute bear.

Here he is!

Size: It is approx. 9cm/3.5in if you use specified yarn and hook.

The pattern can also work well with the yarn of other weight, but the size of finished crochet toy will be different.

1. Cotton yarn weight sport: blue, yellow, white, black.
    Crochet thread n.10: brown, grey
2. Crochet hook 1,6 mm/7 for Minion, and 0.7mm/13 for the bear

"Alein and Earth day" Free crochet pattern

Instruction...

how to make your daughter wear the costume of Alien if she doesn't like to wear hats, masks, crowns, combs, etc. At the same time, she needs to wear the decoration and/or costume for all the day without any discomfort for her because she spends six hours in the school.

A little about "why".

Our nice preschool has so many ideas for every day that we need to be prepared for many things. For example, we have had the week of colors, that means all the children must wear the clothes with a special color of the day: Monday - yellow, Tuesday - red, Wednesday - green, and so on. I've had to buy a green t-shirt because we didn't have it. Or Star wars day, we wear Star wars costumes or attributes. On Christmas Eve there is a pajama party and even director of the school is in pajamas. That's a great fun! I've never seen this in any country I lived before. I've heard about Thailand, they have the culture of colors, every color means something special but this story I can tell you in next article.

So, yesterday there was an Earth Day in our preschool. Our children have had to dress up like an Alien or Astronaut.

I can't really imagine my daughter as Astronaut in the suit or helmet  πŸ˜†, so, we decided to make an Alien with antennas on the head and we made a cotton t-shirt with the face of Alien. Everything is very easy to do and she looks funny. The idea was mine, my husband has approved (the last is the most important thing πŸ˜†.

Which materials I used:

1. T-shirt
2. yarn white, blue, black (I used Artiste 100% mercerized Egyptian cotton, for crochet hook 1.5 mm/7)
3. polyester
4. pins
5. 2 elastics hair bands
6. thread black and white
7. steel crochet hook 1.5 mm/7 and 1 mm/10
8. scissors

Elastic headband

We are going to crochet around the elastic hair band.
Use blue yarn, crochet hook 1 mm/10
RND 1: 10 sc in MR
RND 2-100: 10 sc (10)
RND 101: we join beginning and end of crocheted elastic, we do 10 sc. Cut yarn, hide end inside

Antenna of Alien

Blue antenna. 2 details.
Use blue yarn. Crochet hook 1 mm/10
RND 1: 11 sc in magic ring (11)
Don’t pull the stitches to much, there must be a space where we will put polyester inside of antenna. Put the reminding yarn.
RND 2-16: 11 sc
RND 17: 11 inc (22)
RND 18: 22 sc (22)
RND 19: (1 sc, 1 inc)*11 (33)
RND 20-23: 33 sc (33)
RND 24: (1 sc, 1 invdec)*11 (22)
RND 25: 22 sc (22)
RND 26: 11 invdec (11)
RND 27: 11 sc (11)
Cut yarn approx. 20 cm/8in for sewing.
Stuff antenna with polyester, only the leg. Put upper part of the antenna inside (it will be like a plate) and sew it to the leg.

The white part of the antenna. 2 details.
Use white yarn. Crochet hook 1 mm/10
RND 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Put the reminding yarn.
RND 2: 6 inc (12)
RND 3: (1 sc, 1 inc)*6 (18)
RND 4: 18 sc (18)
RND 5: (2 sc, 1 inc)*6 (24)
Cut the yarn approx. 20 cm/8in for sewing the detail.
Stuff white part with polyester and sew it to top the antenna as shown below.
Sew antenna to the elastic hair band.

Eyes for t-shirt

For a t-shirt, we crochet 3 eyes and then we sew them to the t-shirt.
All the eyes are the same, I showed in the photo how we start and the final version of the eye.
Use crochet hook 1.5 mm/7 and black yarn.
RND 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
RND 2: 6 inc (12)
RND 3: (1 sc, 1 inc)*6 (18)
RND 4: (2 sc, 1 inc)*6 (24)
RND 5: (3 sc, 1 inc)*6 (30)
RND 6: (4 sc, 1 inc)*6 (36)
RND 7: (5 sc, 1 inc)*6 (42)
RND 8: (6 sc, 1 inc)*6 (48)
RND 9: (7 sc, 1 inc)*6 (54)
RND 10: (8 sc, 1 inc)*6 (60)
Cut yarn approx. 20 cm/8in for sewing detail

Mouth

Use black yarn.
The mouth it’s just a black cord.
Row 1: 90 sl st (90)
Row 2: 89 sc (89)

When the eyes are ready, we sew them to the t-shirt. And here you can decide how you sew it, as you wish.

I put eyes close to each other, approx. 13 cm/5in from the collar/beginning of the shoulder and mouth (in the middle) approx. 11 cm/4.3in from the eyes.

That’s all. Your Alien is ready!

We created safety, natural, simple and funny costume.

Now your Alien can do many interesting things. As for my daughter school: they worked on their Space Yoga moves in a gym, learned about recycling and made Spaceship from paper with their names on it. That's awesome!

15+ Enchanting Products for St.Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.

Today's St Patrick's Day celebrations have been greatly influenced by those that developed among the Irish diaspora, especially in North America.

Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, Irish traditional music sessions (cΓ©ilithe). St Patrick's Day parades began in North America in the 18th century. The participants generally include marching bands, the military, fire brigades, cultural organisations, charitable organisations, youth groups, and so on. However, over time, many of the parades have become more akin to a carnival.

On St Patrick's Day, it is customary to wear shamrocks, green clothing or green accessories (the "wearing of the green"), the colour associated with Catholics in Ireland.

In this collection, we present a wide range of products for St. Patrick's Day. If you like do-it-yourself decor, you'll love LaCigogne's Leprechaun top hat. Looking for home decor?
